How to Double Your Revenue, With Your Existing Customers

This technique work online and offline, as do ALL of our Hybrid Marketing strategies. So why am I posting it in the Online category? Well, because I haven't posted here in a while silly... ;-) This ties in directly with our concept of "The Ultimate Backend" and a real powerful concept is to challenge yourself, your clients, vendors and employees to constantly search for new businesses within your business. Here we go... First, in ANY business there are an unlimited number of offshoot businesses you can create. You just have to be creative. For instance, in a mail-order company, you could have an offshoot of consulting to those people that you sell to. You could then telemarket. You could then do seminars and workshops. For car dealers, you could provide extended warranties and insurance to new car owners. For a contractor, whether it's heating and cooling, pools, pest control or whatever, you can provide annual service contracts. I'll use a pool contractor as my example, and show you how to double your annual revenue without having to increase your customer base. A pool contractor for instance might use upselling through the offering of an annual service contract to clean and service a pool four times a year. This can dramatically improve his bottom line. In fact, we can easily double the value of the customers by added income from adding just 40% of the clients to an annual contract. How, you ask? Let's walk through the math... For the sake of easy numbers, let's say the service call for pool service (or pest control, or <insert service here>) is $100 and there are 100 customers per year. There's a gross of $10,000, which is $100 per customer. Here's the upsell and how to easily double your annual revenue... The upsell strategy is an annual contract where you're going to visit four times a year. The cost for each visit to the client is $100, so the total cost at this point is $400 (before giving them your "preferred customer" discount). If they buy your annual contract today, let's say you give them a discount of $150, of which now just $250 is the cost to the customer. You following me here? (This is EASY!) If you close just 40% of these people, your new revenue is $10,000. 40% of 100 is 40 people times $250 (the cost of your annual contract) and that equals $10,000 per year. So, the new value of these 100 customers is $20,000; $10,000 for the service call ($100 x 100 customers) and another $10,000 for the 40 people who paid $250 for the annual contract. The value per customer is now $200. You just DOUBLED your annual revenue! You still have the same 100 customers, so it didn't cost you anything extra to gain new customers. How cool is that? When You KNOW Something Works, Why Don’t You Just Do It?

Stop Talking and Take Action: If Networking is the Bomb and WILL Grow Your Business, Why Don't You Attend More Seminars?

I recently posted a question to Twitter World.  I asked what percentage of your business do you feel is a direct result from the amount of networking that you participate in? The answers varied, but all but a single response said 90% or more of their business was a DIRECT result of networking.  More specifically, face to face networking. And the people who responded aren't people who are making $20 per month on a website - these are folks like us who are making a VERY comfortable living as an entrepreneur. You know Lee and I do A LOT of traveling to speaking engagements.  Heck, we just returned from the Ross Goldberg event two days ago where we talked about our Hybrid Marketing strategies. As was expected this live event was a non-stop sharing of great marketing and online traffic strategy info.  The tips shared this weekend alone would have made the trip worth while. But the real beauty of the event was with the other folks there.

We had hordes of like minded people in one place at the same time. This was a beautiful thing.

There were people at this event that were at all stages of their business.  And there were A LOT of folks there that have really achieved substantial business success. They run their own businesses on their terms. Isn't that what you all tell us time and time again is EXACTLY what you want? And why were these uber successful entrepreneurs taking time out of their incredibly busy schedules to attend this event?  The same reason we go to at least 1 event per month...

Cause they know the truth.  Networking is the key to their business.

I know that your real desire is to achieve your financial dreams - so what do you think the fastest way to achieve your financial dreams is? Duh...see who is already doing it successfully and do that! Folks, 90% of the successful people out there want to see everyone around them reach their dreams and desired levels of achievement. This is the absolute truth. When any of us find someone who honestly will do what it takes to succeed, we want to help them along their path as much as possible. So, taking into account these facts:
  1. Networking results in over 90% of business for those folks who actually participate in networking
  2. Group gatherings, such as seminars and workshops, are great places to meet like minded uber successful people
  3. Most uber successful people love to see everyone around them achieve
Tell me again why you can't attend live events? And don't tell me that you don't want to spend the money to travel to just get pitched to.  I call Bullshit!
  • One - you don't have to buy anything if you don't feel it will help your business.  Go with the mindset to network with the folks achieving what you want to achieve.
  • Two - there are a lot of events that are workshop or lifestyle events.  Folks - you won't even be allowed to buy anything at these events!
Come on - there are no excuses here.  You know what you need to do to take your business to the next level.

So Why Don't You Just Do It?

If you are still hesitant - I can't help you.  You are NOT ready to really grow your business.  This may seem blunt, but be real with yourself. And share your reasons with us.  If we don't understand your barriers, we can't help you. If you are ready to take the necessary action,  I would like to recommend a lifestyle event. And no worries about "pitching".  There isn't even a stage for "presentations".

How to Live the Lifestyle – Without Breaking the Bank!

About two years ago I met Nico at a seminar in Orlando, Florida. There was an INSTANT connection, and we have been planning an extra-special event for YOU since that first meeting. To Be You, Or Not To Be You – That is the Rhetorical Question

So, I feel like I need to throw something out there to you, Loyal Reader.... We just returned from Simon Leung's kickass Adword's workshop in sunny San Jose, CA where we got to talk about Hybrid Marketing to an incredible crowd. Good times...

Side note: Love all the traveling - seeing parts of this fabulous country that all should enjoy. You really do get what you ask for and Bring More Of It On!

Anyway - back on topic... When we get back from these awesome travels, we thankfully have piles of mail to sort through. (In direct mail, it is BAD to not be getting stuff in the mailbox J) In these piles of mail we can find requests for more information, orders (happy dance) or general correspondences. The "general correspondence" pile is the most interesting of all. We get everything from testimonials, to letters of well wishing, to tales of woe about disease and misfortune, to the rantings of deranged fellow Americans. It never ceases to amaze me, the things that people will take the time to write out (many times in long hand); thoughts, opinions or them talking to or about themselves. Often times in very, um, shall we saw colorful fashion? It's one of these "general correspondences" that I would like to take a few minutes of your valuable time to address. I found this letter in the pile. It quickly stood out. Nice, crisp white envelope. Incredibly even and centered penned addresses. Upon opening the envelope, I found a very nice two paged typed letter on high stock paper. First glance indicated that this letter was sent by a very intelligent person and let me say, that I was not let down. To my delight, what I found was a very eloquently written letter addressing how the gentleperson thought our recent hybrid marketing workshop in Flint MI was very well done, giving everything to the attendees that they could expect (and much, much more). This gentleperson found that the caliber of our event had far surpassed many others that he had attended, even seminars hosted by "the masters" (whatever that means). In paraphrasing his words, not only did we deliver on all of our promises of HUGE content at our Hybrid Marketing workshop, we brought in a wide variety of guest speakers that nicely rounded out the content AND the attendees were not "pitched to the entire time" (as promised). Heck, this writer even had a FUN time during and after the event AND made some very exciting new contacts while attending our workshop. All that glowing testimony aside, the letter's real intent was surprisingly to address this gentleperson's opinion that many of the speakers (including ourselves) were doing a gross disservice to ourselves by not dressing and acting (in his opinion) in a manner that was equal to our vast knowledge and expertise. Now, I ask you, Loyal Reader... If this gentleperson's expectations for the event were well surpassed, why did he give a ratt's ass what we were wearing? Not that this matters at all, but this wasn't exactly the first time that this gentleperson had met us...we have been working together for quite some time and should have come to understand what to expect from our "persona". With all the gratitude and respect I can muster, I do appreciate this gentleperson's opinion - but COME ON!

Whatever.... All I can say is that we are who we are. Lee and his flip flop wearing rocker gear and me in my sassy arm candy ensemble, typically singing into the microphone during breaks. Hey, it works for us. This is who we are on and off the stage. Dressing like rock stars makes us feel like we are accurately representing who we are and that only makes our content better and presented in a vastly more comfortable and enjoyable fashion. I only hope that this gentleperson will take all of the great knowledge that he acquired at our awesome 2 day workshop and makes the most out of all his future endeavors. Heck, maybe he'll even buy a pair of flip flops. :-)
