Welcome to Part II of “How to Get Targeted Traffic Fast”.

One of the major problems faced by new marketers can be summed  up in one question… “Where Do I Start?”. What I’ve found is  that there are a few simple steps that almost anyone can use immediately to start generating leads and making sales online.

Below you’ll find 3 Steps To Internet Profits which details how you can start generating traffic and making money without spending it.

Step 1 – Finding A Market Of Buyers

Find a need for a product BEFORE you go out and buy one to sell or create one. The biggest mistake you can make is to try and sell a product that you’ve fallen in love with and think that everyone else will automatically love it too.

Get over it.

What you have to do is find a target group of individuals who are looking for something specific and then set yourself up as the person to give them what they want. You have to find out if there’s a market for a product first.

Being a pioneer and breaking new ground is fine, but it’s not the fastest way to make money. In another article I explain exactly how simple the concept of finding a need or a want BEFORE finding or creating a product really is.

Finding a group of individuals hungry for specific products can be done with a little research. One of the best places to find large groups of people with similar interests is online newsletters.

Publishers either provide their readers with information they want to read or people simply unsubscribe themselves. Publishers don’t pay subscribers to read their newsletters so the only reason subscribers stick around is because they’re interested in the information being presented to them.

Many publishers take suggestions from their subscribers to provide content while others simply take articles written by others that cater to the wants of their market. Subscribe to as many newsletters as you can to get a feel for the kind of information that’s being presented to the people you’re thinking about reaching with your product.

You’ll have to do a little searching to find good ones, but when you do there will be no shortage of ideas coming to you. Pay close attention to the questions people are asking. I’ve gotten more than a few great ideas from these forums that I’ve used to reach tens of thousands of people for free using the next step.

Step 2 – Reaching A Market Of Buyers

Once you’ve identified the kind of information people are looking for, the next thing you do is find or create your product.

I know… I know.

Let me put your mind at ease. You don’t have to create a full-blown product to make money online. A simple report will do just fine. If you already write articles then you’re ahead of the game. The reason I asked you to join newsletters to get a feel for the kind of information being presented to your target market is because you’re going to be creating a simple report based on what you already know people are reading.

The reason is simple.

You will be contacting publishers with your report in a one-to-one email asking them to give your report to their
subscribers. There is a good reason why they’ll do this. Your short, hard-hitting report will be on a topic similar to the ones that a publisher already gives to his or her list on a weekly or monthly basis.

Your report also promotes an affiliate program and you’re giving the publisher the rights to add their own affiliate link. The publisher not only gets to give his or her readers more of the kind of information they want, but the publisher also has the potential to make sales from something they didn’t have to write.

Your goal is to save publishers some time while also giving them a way to profit. It’s important that you do two things.

1) Join a two-tier program that pays YOU when someone you
referred to a program makes sales so that the publishers you
contact can make money for you.

2) Use your SIG File (the credits at the end of your article) to
capture email addresses for your own list. This is very important
because if you’re promoting a popular affiliate program in your
report then you will need to capture email addresses for your
future sales because that publisher may already be a member of
the program you want them to join.

You want your report in an easily accessible format for the publisher to review. Once they’ve agreed to give your report to their list then just add their affiliate information for them.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that your report isn’t a blatant
advertisement. It should be information that people can actually
use to accomplish something. If not, then you may generate
complaints instead of leads.

People are getting sick and tired of free information that’s nothing more than a sales pitch. Give people something worth reading! The sales will come, but only after you’ve established some level of trust.

Asking for help from someone you’ve helped is the easiest way to make sales. When you actually provide value and help people do something, some feel like they owe you for that.

It’s the “Law Of Reciprocation” at work. You have to give to get.

Step 3 – Future Sales

The reason you want to link your report to your site to collect leads is because marketing is a numbers game. Those who can reach the most people at one time win. You want to constantly collect email addresses (with permission) so that anytime you have something to promote you can just send out an email.

When you hear about marketers making $20,000-$30,000 or more in one month it’s because they are able to reach tens of thousands of people with the click of a button. These marketers don’t have to spend money on ads anytime they have something to promote and that’s the position YOU want to be in.
