		<description>Lee,

I have no idea who you&#039;re talking about here, since as you say, many of those guys do it.

When I had less experience, I got some of these calls that made it sound like I had been selected for some personal coaching program, like I would be working directly with Bob Guru, and the caller went into great detail to find out what my credit card limits were, and so forth... when all it was was some typical high-priced coaching done by assistants, and all the personal questions were to figure out which price level to push me into.

If you start to object, they make you feel like a loser who can&#039;t recognize the opportunity... some of them are really skilled at high-pressure tactics.

I personally hate the practice of framing a 30-min sales call as a free consultation, as if the customer is being given real advice beyond &quot;buy our stuff&quot;. Listening to a sales pitch is not a bonus!

I&#039;m also not fond of getting calls that start with &quot; This is Joe from Bob Guru&#039;s office...&quot; which turn out to be telemarketing calls, because I go to events, I may have met Bob Guru, and I&#039;d like to think it&#039;s possible his office might be calling about a JV or something, rather than just seeing me as another sucker to call.

I&#039;m not opposed to selling, just the misleading and deceptive tactics some of these guys use, especially on people they know don&#039;t know any better.

Also, many of these marketers pay no attention to the Do Not Call list.
